Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the distortion rate with small amount of feedback, by providing an optical frequency divider which selects a specified wavelength in a feedback type, light emitting diode driving circuit comprising the light emitting diode, a light receiving element, and a driving amplifier, transducing the light into an electric signal, and feeding back the signal to the amplifier. CONSTITUTION:The electric signal is inputted in an input terminal 1. The difference between the signal and the feedback signal is formed in a synthesizer 2, sent to the driving amplifier 3, and amplified. Then the light emitting diode 4 is actuated and the generated output light is irradiated to the outside through an optical fiber 6. The receiving element 6 is arranged in the vicinity of the diode 4. Part of the light output from the diode 4 is fed back to the synthesizer 2 through a feedback circuit 7. At this time, the optical frequency divider 8 is inserted between the diode 4 and the light receiving element 6. Said optical frequency divider 8 is constituted by a reflecting plate wherein a plurality of grooves are provided in parallel on a flat plate with an equal interval being provided. The selectivity characteristic of the divider 8 is made steep by utilizing the fact that the angle dispersion of the reflected light is different in accordance with the wavelengths. Thus the feedback is made as small as 1, and the nonlinear distortion is compensated.
