Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the convergence of a color picture tube by placing at least a pair of belt-like permanent magnets within a deflection yoke, and extingushing magnetic fields developed due to the residual magnetism of annealed magnetic substances constituting the said deflection yoke. CONSTITUTION:Belt-like permanent magnets M1, M2, M3 and M4 are arranged inside a deflection yoke. The magnetization of the permanent magnet is performed so that magnetic fields developed due to the residual magnetism of annealed magnetic substances which constitute the deflection yoke, such as a magnetic core, a permalloy plate and a silicon steel plate, are extinguished. Consequently, an excellent convergence characteristic can be obtained.
