Abstract

PURPOSE: To smoothen oxidation by a catalyzer and to prevent the generation of CO gas positively in the captioned briquet combustion apparatus having the CO gas oxidizing catalizers by a method wherein secondary air for the catalyzers is preheated by causing the air to move upward the briquet on fire.
CONSTITUTION: The briquet M is put into a casing 5 which is removably arranged within a housing A and the briquet M is fired in a known method. The, after a door 1C' is opened and the casing 5 is placed on a bed 4, the door is closed. In this condition, a part of air rising upward from an air inlet 1a is supplied directly to the briquet M as primary air through a vent hole 5a in the bottom 5a of the casing 5.
