Abstract
PURPOSE: To smoothen oxidation by a catalyzer and to prevent the generation of CO gas positively in the captioned briquet combustion apparatus having the CO gas oxidizing catalizers by a method wherein secondary air for the catalyzers is preheated by causing the air to move upward the briquet on fire.
CONSTITUTION: The briquet M is put into a casing 5 which is removably arranged within a housing A and the briquet M is fired in a known method. The, after a door 1C' is opened and the casing 5 is placed on a bed 4, the door is closed. In this condition, a part of air rising upward from an air inlet 1a is supplied directly to the briquet M as primary air through a vent hole 5a in the bottom 5a of the casing 5. Further, the secondary air is sucked through an air hole 3. Such secondary air moves upward as it is preheated and is discharged from an exhaust port 1b together with an exhaust combustion gas generating from the briquet M after passing through the catalyzers arranged in a plurality of stages. In this case, each of the catalyzers 2 is heated by the preheated secondary air and the exhaust combustion gas and the CO included in the former is converted into CO2 after being oxidized effectively by the oxygen included in the secondary air.
