Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent heat transfer pipes of the title heat exhanger from being deformed by a method wherein a heat insulating member is provided on the outer periphery of each of the heat transfer pipes adjacent to a fluid inlet window. CONSTITUTION:A heat insulating spacer 17 whose inner diameter is larger than the outer diameter of each of the heat transfer pipes 9 is provided about the outer periphery of the pipe at a position adjacent the inlet window 12 for a primary fluid with the upper end of the spacer 17 fixed to a heat insulating plate 11. Consequently, no heat exchange takes place at the portion adjacent to the inlet window 12 against which the parimary fluid runs normal and no temperature difference takes place among the heat transfer pipes so that the temperature distribution through the heat transfer pipes is made uniform and the reliability of the heat transfer pipes is improved.
