Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain welding of excellent looking finish and high reliability, by using a torque motor as driving source of the electrode pressing an article to be welded, while supplying electric current and pressing continuously the article to be welded during the period of heating and cooling processes. CONSTITUTION:During the period of heating and cooling processes the torque motor 17 is supplied with electric current in the direction of positive rotation and holds the articles 35, 36 to be welded being pressed between the movable upper electrode 15 and the fixed lower electrode 16. Because the torque motor is designed concerning its characteristics so as to increase its torque as its rotation decreases and to generate maximum torque when its rotation becomes zero and moreover not to burn out its coil even in generation of maximum torque and also the articles 35, 36 to be welded are pressed strongly and continuously by the both electrodes 15, 16 throughout the period of heating and cooling processes, the articles to be welded are melted each other sufficiently and welding operation of fine finish is carried out.
