Abstract
PURPOSE:To permit a vehicle to travel by power supplied from either of a vehicle power source or a power source on the ground by a method wherein the difference between received power and power required for driving a DC motor is supplied to a vehicle power generating means in travelling the vehicle by the ground power source. CONSTITUTION:When a vehicle is travelled by a power source on a vehicle, the output in an AC generator 2 driven by a diesel engine 1 is supplied to a DC motor 4 through a rectifier circuit 3, diode 6, and smoothing reactor 7. In the case of ground power, the difference power between received power supplied through contactors 10, 11 and power required for driving the DC motor 4 is supplied to the AC generator 2 through the rectifier circuit 3 working as an externally energized inverter and the difference power is consumed as engine brake and power loss unavailable for generator.
