Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the construction of an electric diesel locomotive by controlling the rotating speed of a locomotive when the rotating speed of the locomotive which drives a main generator supplying power to a main motor is within an allowable range and controlling a power voltage when it is out of the allowable range.
CONSTITUTION: When the output instruction of a main motor MM is provided by the operation of a master controller MC, a multiplex pattern generator 1 will output a power frequency instruction responsive to a train speed information. When the power frequency instruction is higher than the allowable lower limit rotating speed of an engine driving a main generator G, the power frequency instruction is applied to a governor 5. When it is lower than the allowable lower limit rotating speed, an allowable lower limit fequency instruction is applied to the governor 5, and an output instruction information is simultaneously applied to a pattern generator 7. The pattern generator 7 applies a power voltage instruction to a controller CS in response to the train speed information.
