Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve mobility and maneuverability of floating matters collecting ship through such arrangement that pressurized water, introduced into a pressurized water inlet pipe, may be selectively used for either propulsion of ship or collection of matters floating on the sea where the latter action is enabled due to a negative pressure generated by ejection of the pressurized water. CONSTITUTION:Subsequently to introducing pressurized water in a pressurized water inlet pipe by opening a main valve 20, valves 18, 18' are properly switched to introduce said water in branch injection pipes 4a, 4b. When said water is jetted from the pipes 4a, 4b, a ship moves astern. When said water is introduced into and jetted from branch injection pipes 4c, 4d, the ship makes headway. Further, while jetting of water from the pipes 4b, 4d or one of them may cause the ship to rotate counterclockwise, the same from the pipes 4a, 4c or one of them may cause the ship to rotate clockwise. Furthermore, when a control valve 19 is opened, the pressurized water jets from a nozzle in an injection pipe 11, thereby generating suction force in a suction pipe 6 so that floating matters on the surface of the sea may be sucked through its suction port 9.
