Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a straight tube type mass flowmeter of simple construction and good accuracy by oscillating the straight tube part in which fluid flows at a constant amplitude and determining the phase difference of an oscillation detector provided at both ends thereof as a time difference signal. CONSTITUTION:A straight pipe part 20 for measuring mass flow rate is fixed to a base 23, and the central part thereof is oscillated at an angular frequency omega by means of a driving coil 26 via a driving fitting 4. The oscillations thereof are detected with a detecting coil 28 and the oscillation waveforms of the part 20 are detected with detectors 28A, 28B, This coil 26 makes the amplitude and angular frequency reduction ratio at the point G of the part 20 constant as the oscillator 31 is controlled by the feedback signal of the coil 28. Here, when fluid passes through the part 20 at a velocity (v) of flow, a phase difference is generated in the amplitude waveforms in the detectors 28A, 28B by Coriolis' force the therefore this phase difference is detected from the waveforms of the detectors 28A, 28B and a time difference DELTAt is determined with a time difference detector 32. Further, the mass flow rate is determined with a flow rate converter 33.
