Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible tod detect the end having the different phase automatically, by providing a pair of fixed point detectors which detect the X rays transmitted through two fixed points, and a variable detecting point detector which can change the detecting point between said two fixed points. CONSTITUTION:The sheet to be checked 6 is vertically and continuously transferred from upper side of the paper to the lower side in the Figure. The X rays from X ray sources provided on one side, e.g. the upper side, of the sheet 6 are irradiated on three points of the surface of the running sheet 6 from slits 8, 10, and 12, in the direction perpendicular to the running direction of the sheet. The X ray detectors 14, 15, and 16 are provided so as to correspond to these slits. The set of 8, 9, and 14 and the set of 12, 13, and 16 are fixedly provided, but the set of 10, 11 and 15 is provided so that it can be moved between above described sets. Thus the end having the different phase can be automatically detected.
