Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the suspension stability of a zeolite slurry, and to prevent the variation of the flow properties with temperature conditions, by adding sodium silicate having low SiO2/Na2O molar ratio to an aqueous slurry of zeolite.
CONSTITUTION: A filter cake containing A type zeolite having uniform particle size distribution, containing particles of ≤6μm in diameter in an amount of ≥85%, and obtained by the wet reaction, is mixed homogeneously with an aqueous solution of a low-molar ratio sodium silicate having an SiO2/Na2O molar ratio of ≤2.0 and obtained by mixing sodium silicate with caustic soda, to obtain the objective zeolite slurry having excellent suspension stability and having a zeolite concentration of ≥10wt%, (Na2O+SiO2) content (solid basis) of 1W 15%, a specific conductivity of 0.006W0.1Ω-1cm-1 and a ratio of viscosity at 25°C to the one at 65°C of 0.5W2.0.
