Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the power loss of a DC/DC converter by flowing a current only a quasi-load only when a current applied to the load is reduced. CONSTITUTION:A series circuit of a resistor 31 and a transistor 32 forming a quasi-load is connected between the first ouput terinals 8 and 9, and a reference voltage source 33 having a voltage higher than the voltage between the input and the output of a voltage drop element 19 necessary to normally operate the element 19 forming a series controlled stabilizer is provided. The voltage of the source 33 is compared by a voltage comparator 34 with the voltage of the input terminal of the element 19, thereby controlling the transistor 32. Since the quasi-load current flows in response to the input terminal voltage of the element 19 in this manner, even if the inductance of a choke coil malfunctions due to certain cause, the voltage of the capacitor 18 follows to the input terminal voltage drop starting point automatically.
