Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect a corrosion current of a metallic tank of an underground transformer as it is in a working state, by measuring in advance a resistance value between an earth terminal and a base terminal before the transformer is buried, and measuring a potential difference between measuring terminals after the transformer has been buried. CONSTITUTION:On the upper part of a metallic tank 1 having a cooling fin 1a, a terminal chamber 1b is formed and a terminal base 2 having a pair of measuring terminals 2a, 2b is provided. On the other hand, an earth terminal 3 is installed to the upper part of the tank 1, also a base terminal 10 is installed to a lower base 1C, and the terminal 2a and the terminal 3, and the terminal 2b and the terminal 10 are connected respectively. As for such a transformer, before it is buried, a resistance value R between the terminal 3 and the terminal 10 is measured in advance. Subsequently, the transformer is installed in an underground hole 6, and an earth rod of ground 13 is connected to the terminal 3 with an earth wire 8. When the transformer is installed in this way a potential difference (e) between the terminal 2a and 2b, a corrosion current (i) shown by the expression is derived and an advancing state of corrosion is monitored.
