Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the electrolytic corrosion of an underground-buried metallic pipe by forming bond junctures electrically conducting and connecting each of said metallic pipes to the connecting parts of said pipes and connecting earth plates to the arbitrary positions of the metallic pipes.
CONSTITUTION: Since underground-buried metallic pipes 1, and 1' are connected to each other by means of a bond connecting wire 4 and are in a good electrical conductive state, the galvanic current in accordance with oxygen concn. cell effect and the like flows mostly in the pipes 1 and 1'. Hence, the current flowing out into the ground from the damaged parts 6 which are liable to be produced in the pressure contact parts between the pipes 1, 1' and a joint pipe 3 is considerably decreased and the breakthrough electrolytic corrosion damages from the parts 6 are considerably decreased. Since earth plates 5 are connected in the arbitrary positions of the pipes 1, 1', the galvanic current flowing in the pipes, 1, 1' flows out into the ground through the plates 5 in spite of the case in which other damaged parts 7 are produced other than in the connected parts. Hence, the current flowing from the parts 7 to the ground decreases and the breakthrough electrolytic corrosion damages in the parts 7 are decreased.
