Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve molecular wt. graduation of the ultrafiltration membrane by contacting the ultrafiltration membrance comprising a copolymer of acrylonitrile and a non-electrolyte water soluble monomer with water and/or a specific solvent under a specific temp.
CONSTITUTION: A copolymer of acrylonitrile and a non-electrolyte water soluble monomer such as vinyl pyrrolidone or the like is mixed and dissolved in 1, 4- dioxane and N,N-dimethyl-formamide and, after the resulting solution is cast on a glass plate to evaporate the solvent for 30sec, immersed in ice water for one hr to make a membrance. When 1.0wt% dextran aqueous solution is treated with the resulting ultrafiltration membrane at 25°C under pressure of 3.0kg/cm2 and flow speed of 1.0m/sec, a permeated water amount is 5.09m3/m2.day and a removal ratio is 14.1%. When said membrane is immersed in warm water at 60W 80°Cfor 15min, a permeated water amount is changed to 4.98W0.57m3/m2.day and the removal ratio to 15.0W41.6%.
