Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the abnormal power conduction of a load, by connecting a time limit device which interrupts power supply when the repetition of an AC period of voltage application to a load continues more than a specified time, to a circuit detecting voltage application to the load. CONSTITUTION:A voltage applied to a lamp as a load 1 is picked up in the form of full wave rectification at a diode bridge BD1 of a load voltage detecting circuit 2. When the illumination of the lamp 1 starts, a transistor TQR3 of a timer circuit 5 is conductive, a TRQ4 cuts off and charging to a capacitor C3 is started. When a set time determined with a time constant consisting of a resistor R3 and a capacitor C3 elapses, a voltage across a capacitor C2 reaches a treshold potential at the terminal 6 of a timer IC, an output terminal 3 of the timer IC changes from high to low level and a TRQ5 becomes conductive. Thus, a relay RA is operated, a contact 4 is opened and the power supply to the lamp 1 is interrupted.
