Abstract

PURPOSE: To standardize balst furnace operations by sucking gaseous atmospheres near the tap hole of a blast furnace, analyzing the gaseous components in a blast furnace in the gas continuously and detecting a tapping end time by the analyzed value.
CONSTITUTION: A suction hook 10a is provided near the tap hole 4 of a blast furnace 1, and a gas suction means 10b in connected thereto to suck the gaseous atmospheres 5 near the same continuously. Part of the gases 5 are extracted at the point (a) of the hood 10a, and these are analyzed with a continuous gas analyzer 11. The analyzed values are recorded in a recorder 12. In the analyzer 11, the concns. of SO2, CO, CO2, H2S, etc. are analyzed continuously, and these analyzed values increase sharply when the amt. of the iron remaining in the furnace is nearly zero. Hence when the analyzer 11 detects this, it gives an instruction to an instructing means 13 thereby stopping the tapping.
