Abstract

PURPOSE:To cast grid bodies for batteries of good shapeability free from defects such as burnt deposits, crazes or the like by cooling molten metal slowly by a temp. control means thereby solidifying the molten metal while running a pair of mold belts having engraved parts in tight contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:Driving rollers 1, 1' and revolving rollers 2, 2' which are driven to revolve by means of motors 12 via chains 13 have teeth (a) on the outside surfaces. Mold belts 5, 5' made of metal extended across the rollers 1, 2 and 1', 2' are provided with recesses (b) to be meshed with said teeth (a) on the inside surfaces, and have engraving parts 6 for forming grid bodies, as well as recesses (c) and projecting parts (d) meshing during traveling on the outside surfaces.
