Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the thickness of a pipe more uniform in rolling the pipe with a pair of rolling rolls and a mandrel which are revolved respectively, by combining the movement of the mandrel in its axial line direction with the control for the respective revolving speeds of the rolls. CONSTITUTION:A pipe 5 guided by a mandrel 4 is rolled with rolling rolls 1a, 1b which are revolved in an arrow direction by means of motors 2a, 2b. At this time, the rotating speeds of the rolls 1a, 1b are controlled respectively, and the mandrel 4 is moved in an axial directon with a moving mechanism 6 so that the pipe 5 is rolled without producing any deviation in thickness. More specifically, the rolling torques exerted upon the rolls 1a, 1b in accordance with the applied voltage to the motors 2a, 2b are detected and from the difference thereof, the thickness deviation distributions of the upper, lower rolls parts 5a, 5b of the pipe are detected and the motors 2a, 2b, 7 are so controlled as to eliminate the thickness deviation of the pipe 5. According to the magnitude of the stresses accompanied with the deformation of the pipe 5, the rolls 1a, 1b are attached and detached with an oil hydraulic cyliner mechanism 10, a servovalve 12, a comparing adder 13, a setter 14, a displacement detector 15 and a pressure detector 16.
