Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove the defect of radio wave noise in a 3-phase AC generator driven, for example, by an internal combustion engine by providing an output voltage detecting circuit and a voltage control transistor connected to a field coil, thereby continuously controlling an exciting current. CONSTITUTION:An AC generator 2 is driven, for example, by an internal combustion engine, and is provided with a 3-phase star-connection armature coil 5 and a field coil 6. A voltage regulator 1 continuously controls a field current to regulate the voltage of the coil 5, and the charging voltage of a storage bat- tery 4 is controlled constantly. The coil 6 is initially energized by a storage battery 4, and when the generator 2 starts rotation, the voltage generated at the coil 5 is detected by a Zener diode (ZD) through a voltage divider of resistors (R) 1, 2, and when it exceeds the prescribed voltage, the ZD is conducted, and the transistor Tr 1 is interrupted. Thus, the base currents of the Tr 1, 2 are reduced, the Tr 1, 2 are controlled so that the prescribed exciting current is applied through the Tr 3 to the coil 6, and the excessive voltage is consumed between the emitter and the collector of the Tr 1.
