Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize silver peroxide and to reduce self-discharge by a method wherein a cadmic element is contained in an electrolyte or both of an electrolyte and silver peroxide, and a telluric element is contained in at least either an electrolyte or silver peroxide. CONSTITUTION:0.03g/l or more of a cadmic element which consists of cadmium oxide, cadmium hydroxide, metal cadmium powder, cadmium sulfide, cadmium nitrate and the like is contained as a metal in an alkaline electrolyte; otherwise, 0.02g/l or more of a cadmic element for an alkaline electrolyte and 0.01wt% or more of the element for silver peroxide are contained in an alkaline electrolyte and silver peroxide, respectively. In addition, 0.02g/l or more of a telluric element comprising tellurium dioxide, tellurium trioxide, metal tellurium powder and the like for alkaline electrolyte, or 0.01wt% or more of such an element for silver peroxide is contained as a metal in at least either an electrolyte or silver peroxide.
