Abstract
PURPOSE:To utilize electric power generated by the 1st DC power source invariably at its maximum by providing the 1st DC power source whose output varies and a chopper on the output side of the 2nd DC power source which compensates the variation, and by controlling the chopper. CONSTITUTION:The output of a DC power source 1 which utilizes the energy of the sun and wind and the output of a chopper 20 provided to the output side of a battery 2 which compensates the variation of the power source 1 are connected together. The criterion of a voltage reference circuit 33 is set to the voltage Edm of the power source which can supply a maximum output corresponding to the amount of solar iradiation and when an output voltage Ed is lower than it, the output of an amplifier 33 is increased through a detecting circuit 32 and an error detector 33 to increase the conduction angle of a transistor TR21 by a pulse-width modulator 35. When the voltage Ed is higher than the criterion, the control is performed reversely and the chopper 20 is so operated than the output voltage is the Edm. When the supply electric power P1 of the power source 1 is less than electric power PL that a load requires, the difference is compensated by the battery 2 and when P1>PL, the battery 2 is charged through the diode 22 of the chopper 20 to utilize the electric power P1 effectively all the time.
