Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a control circuit by controlling an output in response to power source variation and load fluctuation by the ON-time control of a switching element or the vector control of two bridge arms. CONSTITUTION:A resonance type converter is applied to a high-voltage charger for a capacitor C0, and composed of a DC power supply E, FETs Q1-Q4 and diodes D1-D4 bridge-connected to the power supply E, a capacitor C1 for resonance and an inductance L1, a step-up transformer. T1 and a high voltage rectifier circuit CW. The charging voltage of the capacitor C0 is detected by a detecting resistor R1, and gate signals G1-G4 for respective FETs Q1-Q4 are generated from a gate-signal generating circuit A2 in response to error signals through an error amplifier A1. Consequently, when a charging starting command comes, the gate signals G1-G4 are applied so that the FETs Q1-Q4 are turned ON in maximum pulse width up to charging voltage Vref, and output currents are fed. The currents are reduced with the charging of the capacitor C0, and the gate signals G1-G4 are stopped when voltage reaches V0.
