Abstract

CONSTITUTION: When a magnetically memorizing medium as a magnetically recording body such as a magnetic disc is manufactured by an electroless plating method, an electroless plating bath contg. Co ion or Co ion and Ni ion is used, and to the bath are added reducing agents for Co ion and Ni ion, a pH buffer for the bath, a pH regulator, complexing agents for Co ion and Ni ion, and Pb ion such as lead sulfate by a very small amount of as ≤9.7×10-5mol/l. A magnetic Co-Ni- Pb film formed on a tape by electroless plating has improved magnetic characteristics such as coercive force and residual magnetic flux density.
