PURPOSE:To urge to retransmit an error information frame, by executing a retransmission request by use of a selective retransmission (LREJ) frame which is capable of designating a range for requesting the retransmission of the error information frame, and also monitoring the retransmission state by a retransmission monitoring timer. CONSTITUTION:An information frame transferred from a transmitting station is received by a communication adaptor 410, the adaptor 410 stores the received information frame in the buffer in a communication buffer 430 designated by a data link control processing device 420, and informs a circuit address and a storage address to the processing device 420 when receiving has been completed. The processor 420 discriminates the received frame, and informs a circuit address and a storage address to a monitoring device 440 in case when the received frame is an information frame. The monitoring device 440 checks the sequence of a transmitting sequence number of the information frame, generates an RR frame for confirming the transmission and allowing to receive the information frame in case when said sequence is correct, and an LREJ frame for requesting to retransmit the information frame in case when the information frame is an unconfirmed one, and requests the retransmission.
