Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate necessity of product inspection after welding by measuring waveform or frequency of penetrating beam current that comes out from the back of welded material and that of beam current incident upon the welded material and performing welding while judging weldability during welding work. CONSTITUTION:An electron beam 2 coming out from an electron gun 1 penetrates and welds a material 3 to be welded. The penetrating beam 4 coming out from the material 3 to be welded is absorbed by a penetrating beam adsorbent 5 and penetrating beam current is grounded through a resistance 7 and a measuring instrument 8. An oscilloscope, an electromagnetic oscillograph, a frequency meter etc. are used as measuring instrument 8. Consequently, the waveform and frequency of penetrating beam current is measured, and presence of regularity of beam waveform and presence of synchronism between frequency of beam waveform and beam oscillation frequency are judged. Thus, welding can be performed while judging weldability during welding work.
