Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a metallic diaphragm having a quasi-semispherical face easily by fixing an outer circumference and a part of inner circumference of a circular thin metallic plate to a supporting outer ring and an inner ring and pressing by high pressure fluid from one side and thereby plastically deforming the thin plate. CONSTITUTION:A pressurizing piston 2 is take out from a cylinder 1 of a metallic diaphragm manufacturing device and a supporting outer ring 5 and inner ring 11 to which a perforated thin disk 12' is welded is set to a fixed position. Next, an inner ring 10 is fixed by an auxiliary piston 7 and a hydraulic press is operared to thrust the piston 2 against the cylinder 1 to fix the inner ring 5. Working oil is introduced into the cylinder 1 from a connecting port 14, and force is applied to the upper face of the thin disk 12' uniformly as an equally distributed load to effect nearly uniform plastic deformation. Thus, a diaphragm is manufactured by forming a quasi-semispherical recessed face without causing inequality of thickness.
