Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized captioned folding device which permits the folded paper having double page to be taken-out by allowing the web having double width to be cut in half in the longitudinal direction and arranging a pair of formers and folding column in front and in rear on the passage for one half of the cut paper and allowing the other half of the cut web to shift its course to the former. CONSTITUTION:A web having double width is slit to half cut webs Wa and Wb, and when Wa is folded into a prescribed pages, Wa is fed into the rear former Fb, and the web Wb is fed into the front former Fa. In folding into double pages, also the web Wb is fed into the front former Fa, piled-up on the web Wb. In both cases, the webs Wa and Wb are longitudinally folded in double in the direction. Then, the web is laterally folded in double by a nipping roll 20, folding column 21, and a swing roll. Thus, the folded papers 27 and 28 having the prescribed pages, and the folded paper 29 having double pages can be taken-out. Thus, double pages folding can be obtained simply by a small-sized machine.
