Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of a spline and broken pieces of large area by assuming a plurality of continuously spreading hexagons in which opposite 2 sides are parallel to each other and have the same length on each nozzle arranging surface of an apparatus and by arranging a plurality of nozzles on the outlines of the hexagons. CONSTITUTION:Hexagons 15 of the same shape are assumed on each arranging surface 13a, and nozzles 11 are arranged on the outlines of the hexagons 15. For example, 12 nozzles are placed on all the corners 15a of each hexagon 15 and at the centers of all the sides 15b one by one. The hexagons 15 are continuously spread on the nozzle arranging surface 13a, and the nozzles 11 are arranged on the outlines of the hexagons 15 having common sides 15b. By spraying air on a heated glass plate from the nozzles thus arranged, the plate is tempered by partial air cooling to manufacture tempered glass.
