Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a layman to manufacture the printing plate for letterpress printing by forming a picture on a foamed resinous layer of the original form wherein a specified foamed resinous layer is provided on a sheet shaped substrate with the heat pen which is heated by a heater. CONSTITUTION:The original form for preparing the printing plate comprises the sheet shaped substrate 1 and the foamed resinous layer 2 which is disappeared by heat. The thickness of the foamed resinous layer is 0.5mm. or more and 5mm. or less. The heat pen comprises a heater 3 which is heated by AC or DC, a tube 10 which incorporates said heater, and a needle 1 which is located at the tip thereof and heated. In order to prepare the printing plate, the picture is formed on the foamed layer 2 of the original form by heat, and a filler 9, which is solidified by drying and the like, is put in the picture part which is disappeared by heat. Then a bonding agent 4 is applied on the entire surface of the foamed layer, and a sheet 5 which is to become a new substrate of the printing plate is bonded. Thereafter the sheet shaped substrate 1 of the original form is separated, the foamed layer 2 is washed out by solvent, or contracted or dissipated by the heat.
