Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of mechanical seal for sealing the contact surface between the inlet port of an exterior vibration-resisting type rotary compressor and its case, by keeping a cylindrical portion and a welded portion of a collar apart from each other, so that deforming stress produced by electric resistance welding may not affect the cylindrical portion of the collar. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with the arrangement of this invention, a cylindrical portion 13a of a collar 13 is kept as far as possible from an inclined surface 13c of the collar 13 where deforming stress is acted by heat produced at the time of welding the collar 13 and a casing 11 together by way of electric resistance welding, so that a diameter-reduced portion 14a of a copper pipe 14, into which a bush 16 is press-fitted with high accuracy, can be protected against change in the inner diameter. Further, since the copper pipe 14 and collar 13 are welded together by use of a brazing material 15 of cast bronze having a melting point slightly lower than those of the materials of the pipe 14 and collar 13, softening of the copper pipe itself is promoted, so that the contact surface between the diameter-reduced portion 14a and the bush 16 can be sealed positively by simply press fitting the bush 16 into the diameter-reduced portion 14a.
