Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a new dynamic membrane exhibiting a high desalting property on an acid side from an aromatic polyamido acid derived from pyromellitic acid and an organic diamino compound.
CONSTITUTION: By the polyaddition reaction of, e.g., pyromellitic anhydride with an organic polyamino compound, an aromatic polyamido acid having a repeating unit of the formula (where A is a divalent residual group derived by removing one H atom each of H atoms bound to two amino groups in an organic polyamino compound) is obtained. The polyamido acid thus obtained is dissolved in an aqueous alkaline solution, and the solution is repeatedly and forcibly made to permeate into a porous support material so as to form membranes in fine pores.
