Abstract

PURPOSE:To correctly measure the flow rate of hot gas by a method wherein temperature of the hot gas before and after reaching a meeting point with dilution gas and t emperature and a flow rate of the dilution gas are measured, and then a flow rate of the hot gas after passing the meeting point is determined based on the given equation. CONSTITUTION:A supply tube A through which low temperature or dilution gas passes is connected with a gas supply path H through which high temperature gas passes. Thermometers H' and I' are provided in the gas supply path on the upstream and downstream sides of a meeting point of both gases, respectively, while a thermometer A1 and a flow rate meter A2 are provided in the supply tube A. Now assuming that temperature and specific heat of the hot gas in the gas supply path before reaching the meeting point are TH and CH, temperature, specific heat and flow rate of the hot gas in the gas supply path after passing the meeting point are T1, C1 and V1, and temperature, specific heat and flow rate of the gas flowing through the supply tube A are TA, CA and VA, respectively, the flow rate V1 is given by the equation based on the airflow balance and thermal value balance. Thus, the flow rate of the hot gas in the gas supply path after passing the meeting point can be determined just by providing the thermometers H', I' and A1 and the flow rate meter A2.
