CONSTITUTION:A strip (a) is cold rolled by a 20-stage Sendzimir rolling mill consisting of work rolls OT, OB the first stage intermediate rolls 1T, 1B, the second stage intermediate rolls 2T, 2B and back up rolls 3T, 3B. During rolling, number of rotation is detected by rotation number detectors A, B for upper and lower rolls and a rotation number detector C for the second intermediate rolls provided with a driving shaft, and the slipping value between rolls is calculated by arithmetic units D, E. This value is compared with set values in limit slipping value setting devices F, G. When the value exceeds the set value, alarms H, I are operated and at the same time, rolling condition is adjusted and controlled.
