Abstract
PURPOSE: To suppress the production of scum through sufficient propagation and activation of methane bacteria in an anaerobic digestion tank using methane bacteria by operating gas-liquid mixing and agitation using a blower and agitation by circulation with a pump using branch pipes associatedly.
CONSTITUTION: Crude sludge is conducted to a mixer 3 where it is mixed with the digestion sludge withdrawn from a digestion tank 1, and is inoculated with anaerobic bacteria, after which it goes through a heater and is branched to an upper branch pipe 6 and a lower branch pipe 5, through which it is injected into the tank 1. By the agitation by the circulation with the pump, the anaerobic bacteria are propagated and the org. matter in the sludge are decomposed. An eductor pipe 12 is erected in the central part of the tank 1, and a gas force- feeding line 17 connected to the discharge port of the blower 16 of a circulation gas suction line 13 including a blower 16 is opened into the pipe 12, and the agitation in the tank 1 by a digesting gas is accomplished. Further, if a gas blow pipe 18 is branched from the line 17 and a suitable gas is blown, the production of scum is prevented and the produced scum is broken.
