Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an equalizer having a simplified constitution of circuit with high stability and reduced power consumption, by decreasing as less as possible the number of DC couplers which become easily complicated with use of an AC coupling discriminator of a comparatively simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:The threshold value of the 1st discriminator 61p is set at the center of an L value signal which passes through a variable weighting circuit. For the 2nd discriminator 62p, L/2-1 units of threshold value are set at the center between the levels of an L/2 value signal of the output of a full wave rectifier 70p. The 3rd discriminator 63p uses the L/2 units of signal levels connected to the output of the rectifier 70p with the AC coupling as the threshold values respectively. using the outputs of these discriminators 61p, 62p and 63p, an error signal generating circuit for P channel produces an error signal Y'p for inphase side main tap of the P channel and an error signal Yp for P channel tap excepting the inphase main tap respectively.
