Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable production of a cold-rolled steel sheet having a delayed aging property, while omitting long-term overaging treatment, by hot-rolling and then cold-rolling a steel containing specified amounts of C and Mn to finely disperse cementite. CONSTITUTION:When a steel having the composition containing 0.06-0.30% C, 0.03-1.50% Mn, C+Mn/30>=0.08%, Si<0.20%, Cr<0.5%, sol. Al<0.2% with the proviso of sol. Al/N>2, and optionally one or two of 0.0005-0.0080% B and 0.0010-0.250% Ti is hot-rolled, the steel is finish-rolled at a temperature higher than 650 deg.C, rapidly cooled and then coiled at 50-400 deg.C, to finely disperse cementite. The hot-rolled steel sheet is then cold-rolled to further finely disperse the cementite. The cold-rolled steel sheet is continuously annealed at a temperature of 640-760 deg.C, relatively lower than that in a conventional manner. Thus, a steel sheet having a delayed aging property and a reduced content of dissolved carbon is obtained without necessity of long-term overaging treatment.
