Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily produce an injection-molded article having a metallic film formed thereon, by preliminarily providing a metallic film on the inside surface of a mold by electrocasting.
CONSTITUTION: The metallic films 5, 6 are formed on the inside surfaces of insert pieces 3, 4 of the mold by electroforming or the like, and a molten resin at a high temperature and a high pressure is injected into the mold cavity via a gate 1a to produce the watchcase having having the metallic film thereon. Since there is no need to preliminarily press-working a metallic plate intended for covering an article or to place it in a mold, the production process is easy and there is no fear of generating flaws or other troubles due to the inconformity between the inside surface shape of the mold and the outside shape of the metallic plate. In addition, in the case of a quartz oscillation type watch, the inside surface of the watchcase is coated with a conductive metal 5 by vacuum deposition since the watchcase is utilized as a part of a conductive circuit.
