Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce a pearly surface gloss with deep feelings by a method wherein a polyester resin is additionally mixed with extruded pellets consisting of a polyester resin and a methacrylic resin so as to specify the methacrylic resin content of a final product. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 10-99wt% of a polyester resin of an intrinsic viscosity of at least 0.6 and 90-1wt% of a methacrylic resin blended in a blender is extruded to produce the pellets. A polyester resin of an intrinsic vsicosity of at least 0.6 is additionally mixed with the pellets so as to adjust the content of methancrylic resin in the finished article to be 0.5-40wt%, and the mixture thus obtained is injection molded to produce a container for cosmetics or food. Since molding is conducted in two stages, a pearly surface gloss with deep feelings can be reproduced stably. Incidentally, a product obtained by using a polyester resin of an intrinsic viscosity of less than 0.6 is lower in strength and has no gloss.
