Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a container excelent in gas barrier properties, transparency and mechanical strength by biaxially stretching a laminate material consisting of saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers (A) of an ethylene content of 10-50mol% and a saponification degree of at least 80% or a blend of (A) with the material other than thermoplastic resins. CONSTITUTION:Between a layer of the saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (A) above mentioned and a layer of a blend or a copolymer of (A) with other thermoplastic resin, is provided a layer of a resin blend of a saponified ethylene- vinyl acetate copolymer (B) of an ethylene content of 50-95mol% and a saponification degree of 10-90% with an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer of a vinyl acetate content of 50wt% or below, to form a laminate. The laminate 1 is extruded 3 and preformed in a preliminary mold 2. The preformed laminate is subjected to biaxially stretching blow molding by use of a mandrel 4 and a mold 6 to obtain a laminate bottle 7.
