PURPOSE:To execute always accurate focusing operation by generating an output signal when the set value of a distance ring is below a prescribed distance, and driving the distance ring up to the prescribed distance value independently from a distance measuring signal. CONSTITUTION:In the case of setting a distance ring within a <=1m manual range and photographing an object located within an automatic focusing range (for example, 2m), the user presses an operating button, then a switch S0 is turned on, and a converter U1 operates, to conduct electricity to integrated circuits IC1-IC3, and focusing is accomplished with the object information inputted from the line sensor IC1 to IC2 and the set distance information inputted from switches S1-S6 to the IC2. Since the distance value of this time is a manual value, the switch SW1 is turned on, and a signal is fed from an SFC circuit to the terminal 14 of the IC2, and from the output terminals A-D of the IC2 a signal is fed to a driving circuit DDC, by which a motor M1 is driven and the distance ring is moved up to the automatic focusing range.
