Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive thermal print head that makes trimming process unnecessary by forming with reaction glass a high resistance area required in a band shape resistance layer. CONSTITUTION:A lead is formed with an electricity conductive thick film of a specified pattern on an insulating substrate 1. In a specified area that opposes the lead 2 a thick film resistance material is printed, and it is heated at temperature over 900 deg.C to form a band shaped resistance layer 3. Next, after a reaction glass layer 6 is printed by the screen printing method at the position that corresponds to a trimming groove, the reaction between the reaction glass layer 6 and the resistance area 3 is made to develop in a furnace, the temperature of which is controlled at a specified temperature. Only the resistance of the band shaped resistance layer on which the reaction glass layer is printed becomes the high resistance portion, and the band shaped resistance layer is divided as in the conventional thermal print heads that have a trimming groove, so that the divisions correspond to the groups of leads, and one exothermic element respectively can be constituted by each division.
