Abstract

PURPOSE:To rewind a magnetic tape securely by the constant extent which corresponds to a tape speed by rewinding the magnetic tape by a prescribed extent on the basis of a temporary stop signal, by counting a control signal, and by determining the rerecording position of the tape by the count value. CONSTITUTION:A temporary stop signal puts a capstan reversing signal generating circuit 9 and a reverse driving circuit 10 in operation through an AND circuit 8, and a capstan motor 11 starts reversing to rewind a tape. A control signal is reproduced by a control head 15 and counted by a counter circuit 20 through a waveform shaping circuit 19 and when the counter circuit 20 goes up to N, a signal is outputted. The signal stops the magnetic tape through a pinch roller ON-OFF circuit 22 and a pinch roller driving circuit 23, and the counter circuit 20 is cleared by a reset signal generating circuit 24; and the reversing signal generating circuit 9 is turned off by the output of the circuit 22 to drive the motor 11 normally. Consequently, the magnetic tape is rewound securely by the constant extent which corresponds to a tape speed.
