PURPOSE:To realize the automatic initialization of a data process system from a remote maintenance center, by providing a mechanism to defining a system initialization request message transmitted via a communication circuit and then to recognize the request message in terms of the hardware. CONSTITUTION:An initialization requesting means transmits a system initialization message from a remote maintenance center via a communication circuit. An initialization means gives the initialization to a data process system when the system initialization request message transmitted via the communication circuit is detected. For instance, if no answer is given to a diagnosis processing command which is transmitted to the system 2 from the center 1 and the necessity for the initialization is decided for the system 2, a prescribed system initialization request message is transmitted to the system 2 via the circuit 3. This request message is recognized by an initialization request recognizing circuit 4 and then transmitted to the system 2 for the initialization.
