Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover efficiently sensible and latent heats from coke oven gas and to utilize effectively the heats as a heating source for an operating heat medium for a heat medium power generating unit, by cooling the gas with an injected liquid having a boiling point of 100W350°C.
CONSTITUTION: A high-boiling liquid having a boiling point of 100W350°C e.g. coal tar is injected into a vent pipe 6 connecting a rising pipe 5 for gas 4 of a coke oven 1 with a dry main 7 at nozzles 9 and 10. Tar 11 heat-exchanged with the gas to be heated to about 200°C is circulated via a heat exchanger 13, a pressurizing pump 14 and piping 15 to nozzles 9 and 10, and the gas is exhausted via heat exchangers 21 and 22 and a sea water cooler 23. On the other hand, the heat medium for the power generating unit (e.g. flon) is heated by heat exchangers 22, 21 and 13 in order to become vapor having a temperature of about 140°C and drives a turbine 27 in a power generating system 25 (a symbol 28 in a power generator) before it is recycled via a pressurizing pump 26 to the heat exchanger 22.
