PURPOSE:To enable colored recording without shear of color by a thermal transfer method by means of a single head, by arranging in parallel a plurality of ink roller units having a function of supplying ink in such a manner that they are movable together with a recording head along a recording paper sheet. CONSTITUTION:The ink roller units 19, 20 and 21 having ink rollers 1, correcting rollers 4, etc. are arranged in plural (three units in Figure in accordance with the three primary colors) in parallel and they are made movable unitedly along the recording paper sheet 11. After the recording surface of the sheet 11 is presented between two guide rollers 23, 23, the sheet 11 is fixed by a clamper 22. Next, the ink roller 1 of the first unit 19 is made to contact with the sheet 11 while an ink layer 9 is formed on the surface thereof, and, meanwhile, the head 12 is made to contact with the sheet from the back thereof, and recording is conducted with both units being moved along the sheet 11.
