Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize a tricolor encoding system which never extends transmission time by using the run-length code of one of two colors by inserting a color shift code for the transmission of the 3rd color by a bicolor facsimile equipment. CONSTITUTION:An original where black (B) characters and red (R) characters are written on a white (WS) ground is read, and picture signal for three colors in a field Y obtained from the beginning of each line in a field X is encoded as shown in a field Z.
