Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent liquid junction and construct a battery easily by arranging many unit cells each composed of a zinc electrode and a halogen electrode in a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction and connecting unit cells of the longitudinal direction in series and connecting two groups or more of these series-connected cells in parallel. CONSTITUTION:Many unit cells 1, each composed of a zinc electrode 3 and a halogen electrode (e.g., chllorine electrode) 4, are arranged in a longitudinal direction that is the direction of an electrode width and in a lateral direction that is the direction of an electrode thickness to make up a battery. The zinc electrode 3 and the chlorine electrode 4 of adjacent unit cells arranged in the longitudinal direction are connected in series through interelectrode conductors in order, and two groups or more of these series-connected unit cells are arranged and connected in parallel.
