Abstract

PURPOSE:To stop an original surely by the constitution wherein the parts of an original stopping member in abutment on a conveying belt are formed in a comb-tooth shape, and are constituted to one or more mutually independent parts in the width direction, and both side parts of the respective parts thereof are energized upward by means of springs. CONSTITUTION:Stop pawls 23 assuming a tooth shape of a comb as a whole are divided to plural pieces in their width direction and the respective pawls 23 are projected upward from an original placing plane. The top end edges thereof are in pressure contact with the outside circumferential surface of a belt 12. Since the respective pawls 23 can move respectively independently, the pawls contact the surface of the belt 2 with roughly uniform pressing force in spite of partial differences in the distance between the surface of the belt 12 and the surface of contact glass 13, thus they can be brought into contact closely with the surface of the belt 12 under uniform pressing force without one-sided contact in spite of the case when the belt inclines with respect to the surface of the glass 13, whereby the original is stopped surely.
