Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the fluctuation of dividing ratio which depends on the wavelengths among the divided luminous fluxes, by making incident a luminous flux in a specific deflecting state. CONSTITUTION:When a nonpolarized luminous flux 17 is made incident to a quick return mirror 4, the S component 18 is mainly reflected by a semitransparent thin film formed on the surface of the mirror 4. The transmitted light 16 is deflected to the lower part by a secondary mirror 6. The light 16 has the main component P and the secondary component S for its constitution of polarization. Under such conditions, it is easy to form a luminous flux dividing optical system 8' so as to make the wavelength characteristics of the dividing ratio stable to the component P. Furthermore the P component ratio of the transmitted light is sufficiently increased by increasing the number of thin film layers of the mirror 4. As a result, the incident deflecting conditions is constant to the system 8' to prevent the fluctuation of dividing ratio which depends on the wavelengths among divided luminous fluxes.
